About the project
Auckland Council’s vision is to deliver a connected network of green parks and streets across Auckland’s city centre. The Daldy Street Linear Park is part of this green link and it connects Victoria Park to Wynyard Point.
Daldy Street is now a place to linger rather than a transport thoroughfare. The linear park includes lush native plantings, play elements and a kerbless streetscape that provides generous amounts of space for walkers and cyclists and a slow zone for motorists.
The Daldy Street transformation is an exemplar of the design approach and vision for Wynyard Quarter, which is to ensure that no matter what the space is, it needs to be a pleasure to use and spend time in.
What’s involved
Daldy Street is a highly connected public transport and pedestrian connection that provides access through Wynyard Quarter. It provides access for people walking and on wheels, cars, buses, and a tram. The street has been strategically designed for all transport modes to safely share the space.
Dates
Daldy Street park was completed December 2020.
