About the project
We have created an attractive, welcoming waterfront destination Kiwis and visitors will love and that will last well beyond the 36th America’s Cup sporting event. While AC36 was the catalyst for this transformation of Auckland’s waterfront, the new infrastructure will serve the city well into the future.
This work was delivered by Wynyard Edge Alliance (WEA), which was formed to design and construct the infrastructure required to support the 36th America’s Cup event, along with other associated works in the downtown Auckland area.
Funded by Auckland Council and the New Zealand Government, we have spent 20 months creating the stage for the 36th America’s Cup.
What’s involved
